SINYC VIOLET RICHARDSON AWARD

The Violet Richardson Award recognizes young women who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; and working to end discrimination and poverty. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are especially valued. Click here for more information.

The deadline for submitting award applications is Monday, December 4, 2011. Applicants must be between the ages of 14-17 by December 1, 2011.  Applicants are requested to submit an essay of no more than 750 words per the instructions.  Applications can be submitted by e-mail or mail and can be handwritten or typed.  Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged and winners will be announced by mid-January 2012. Indicate the correct club depending on the borough where you live:
Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan:  Soroptimist International of New York City
Queens:  Soroptimist International of Manhattan
Staten Island:  Soroptimist International of Staten Island
 
Save:  When completed, be sure to save the application to your computer by clicking "File" then "Save As" and add your name or initials as part of the document name.  You should now have a copy of the completed application saved on your computer.  For example:  VRAApplicationJones
 
Print: Print a back-up copy for your records by clicking "File" and "Print". 
 
Send: Close the document, write your e-mail to the correct club contact and then attach the document file to the e-mail.  Supporting documentation is welcome, but don't go overboard!
