January 1 -- Happy New Year!

First meeting of the year, at the Williams Club.
February

February 9 -- SINYC Program Meeting
Carolyn Hannan, Director of the United Nations Divison for the Advancement of Women, will present on Gender Mainstreaming and the Role of NGOs in the UN System. The program will take place at the Williams Club, 24 East 39th Street. 

February 25 -- Corporate Feminism: Enhancing Corporate Influence through Women's Empowerment
Panel discussion sponsored by the International Council of Jewish Women and Soroptimist International at CSW52, 777 UN Plaza Church Center (1st Ave & 44th Street), 3:15PM - 4:45PM.

March
March 8 -- International Women's Day
Global day connecting women world-wide and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.

March 12 -- SINYC Business Meeting
Business meeting and "Decision 2008", Club Election Day. Also featuring a brief biography by SINYC's Dr. Annie B. Martin, President of the NYC Chapter of the NAACP.

April 11-13 -- North Atlantic Region (NAR) Spring Conference
The NAR will meet at the Penn Stater Conference Center in State College, Pennsylvania. Look for our NEW YORK table at the Conference. Registration form and other documents describing the meeting are on the NAR's website, www.soroptimistnar.org.

April 16 -- SINYC Program Meeting
Members, family, friends and prospective members are invited to our program featuring: Axumite Gebre-Egziabher, Director of UN-Habitat's, and our third 85th Biographical Presentation will be by Soroptimist Lois Beilin. Program Cost: $26.00 per person.

May 11 -- Mothers Day!

June 6 -- Bring & Buy Sale
At Gouvernour Hospital. Details to be announced shortly.

June 15 -- Applications Due for SINYC Education Award Program
All Soroptimists and their immediate family (except SINYC members and family) are eligible for award.

June 30 -- Deadline for Community Service Awards Submissions
Award recipients will be announced in the Fall.

June (TBD) -- SINYC Board Member Retreat

July 16-19 -- SIA's 40th Biennial Convention
Join us in Taipei, Taiwan.

September (TBD) -- SINYC Business Meeting, at the Williams Club

October 25 -- District 1 Meeting
Meeting will be held at the Williams Club, co-hosted by SI Manhattan and SI New York City. A luncheon and tour of the United Nations is planned for Friday, October 24 for early arrivals. Some may wish to also catch a Broadway show on Friday evening.

November (TBD) -- SINYC Business Meeting, at the Williams Club

December 1 -- Deadline for Women's Opportunity Award Nominations
Monetary grants to women and heads of households to attain higher education, additional skills, or training to enable them to improve their job status or re-enter the workforce.

December 1 -- Deadline for Violet Richardson Award Nominations
Monetary grants to honor young women aged 14-17 for outstanding volunteer action in their respective communities.

December 1 -- Deadline for Making a Difference for Women Award Nominations
Honoring women and organizations that have worked to advance the status of women, including awards for: Woman of Distinction, Women Helping Women, and Making a Difference for Women.

December (TBD) -- Annual Holiday Gala
